A CORNUCOPIA OF COLLECTIONS

Every so often, the urge will grab me to assemble a collection of historic places and I will set off to visit them all, often within the same day. As well as tracking to all of Edward I's castles and every one of Englands Anglican cathedrals that I have written about elsewhere, below are links to the other collections I have made and the stories of those visits.

ELEANOR CROSSES

I decide to visit all the Eleanor Crosses that Edward I had erected to mark the places where his wife's body lay overnight on its journey from Harby in Nottinghamshire to Westminster Abbey.

CINQUE PORTS

I spent a weekend visiting all of the cinque ports and associated towns that provided medieval kings with ships for warfare and defence.

LOCAL LOCKUPS

After noticing a preponderance of lockups on the border between Leicestershire and Derbyshire, I go and track some down.
